According to the National Institute of Health, chopped carrot contains 1.8b grams of fibre and 205 mg of potassium. It is advised to people, not to consume more than 2300 mg of sodium a day whereas the intake of potassium should be approximately 4700 mg. The American Heart Association recommends that consume a fibre-rich diet and increasing potassium while reducing sodium intake to protect high blood pressure and heart disease. Carrots offer a perfect balance of these nutrients.
