Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at Republic TV’s Plenary Summit today, declared that Naxalism in India is nearing its end, with the number of affected districts reducing significantly due to his government’s “Nation First” approach. However, he cautioned that while Left-wing extremism is being wiped out from the jungles, its influence is growing in urban centers.
"Earlier, over 100 districts were affected by Naxalism, but now it has been reduced to fewer than two dozen districts. This has been possible only because we worked with a Nation First approach," Modi stated.
‘Urban Naxals’ Infiltrating Political Parties
PM Modi expressed concerns that ‘Urban Naxals’ are expanding their network within mainstream politics. He stated that political parties that once opposed them have now been infiltrated by them.
"Today, we can hear the voices of Urban Naxals within these parties," he said, adding that they are staunch opponents of India's progress.
