World Water Day 2025: Water is essential for survival and needed by all living beings. To recognize its importance and address the global water crisis, the United Nations (UN) declared March 22 as World Water Day in 1992, with official observance beginning in 1993.
On World Water Day, several organizations like the UN, and NGOs host events and campaigns to spread awareness and advocate water’s journey and the critical role glaciers play in Earth’s water cycle.
As we approach UN World Water Day 2025, which is all set to be celebrated under the theme ‘Glacier Preservation', it is important for every individual to take this issue seriously and participate in any way possible to support the cause.
With World Water Day 2025 fast approaching, this year, the UN has launched its annual Activation Kit for school children, continuing the tradition from previous years.
Sticking to its theme, the UN has released an interesting set of questions. If you'd like to share your actions or answers on #WorldWaterDay, you can reach out to campaigns@unwater.org with "World Water Day" in the subject heading of your email.
