Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost Lunar Lander: Historic Moon landing in progress. All eyes are on American private firm Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost Mission I as the spacecraft is set to make a historic landing on the moon today. The Blue Ghost spacecraft will be landing at Mare Crisium, a lunar mare in the Crisium basin of the moon, at 3:34 AM EST (2:04 PM IST) today. The mission has been named after the firefly Phausis reticulata, and the nickname of the mission is ‘Ghost Riders in the Sky’. The private company was awarded a contract by NASA for this lunar mission worth USD 93.3 million in 2023.
