Australia will be aiming to gain the upper hand with another win at Lord's against their arch-rivals England in the ongoing Ashes series. Electing to bowl first after winning the toss, the Tim Paine-led side did a good job by restricting the hosts to 258 riding on three wickets each from spinner Nathan Lyon and pacers Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins respectively. However, tragedy struck the Aussies when during the first innings as they were reduced to 71/4 before losing half their side after crossing the 100-run mark. Nonetheless, there was one player who turned out to be the saviour for the visitors and once again, it was Steve Smith to the rescue.

'Cometh The Hour Cometh The Man'

Smith once again rescued his team from a huge crisis when they needed him the most just like he had done in the previous match by scoring centuries in both the innings. The former skipper stood like a wall when odds were against his side i.e. when wickets were falling at the other end. His patience bore fruits as he scored yet another half-century. This was Smith's 25th Test fifty. This was an important knock, but the swashbuckling batsman also added yet another feather in his cap by the virtue of this knock.
