The Bangladesh Tri-Nation series started on 11 September 2019. It saw Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe play six T20 international matches to lead up to the final that will be played on Tuesday. The final will feature table-toppers Bangladesh, which won three of their four matches. It will face Afghanistan, which won two and lost two matches.

The line-ups

Bangladesh and Afghanistan met on September 21 as they played their last group match before the final. Afghanistan scored 138 for the loss of 7 wickets and looked to be in the driver's seat as Bangladesh lost two quick wickets in their innings. Not all was lost as captain Shakib al-Hasan stood up to the occasion and helped BAN chase the total in 19 overs. Bangladesh will probably field the same playing XI to keep their winning combination going.

Afghanistan may run into issues as skipper Rashid Khan suffered a hamstring injury in the game against Bangladesh. Rashid was off the field before he returned to bowl, only to aggravate his injury. The Afghanistan camp is not sure of Rashid's presence and if he is not able to play, vice-captain Asghar Afghan will probably captain the team.
