Ben Stokes' century helps England level the series

Ben Stokes played an outstanding knock which denied an Australian victory to keep the Ashes alive. After skipper Joe Root's dismissal, the onus was on Ben Stokes to handle the Australian bowling line up which he did in style. Ben Stokes scored an unbeaten 219-ball 135 as he hosts registered a famous win with one wicket left. The series is now level at 1-1 with two games to be played. The Aussies had drawn first blood at Edgbaston while some good performance from the visitors denied England a win at Lord's as the second Test ended in a stalemate. England then did exceptionally well to win the third Test at Headingley after they were bundled out for a paltry 67 in the first innings. The Ashes is now heading towards its final saga with both teams looking to win the 'Urn'. The fourth Test will be played at the Old Trafford in Manchester on September 4.
