Justin Langer who was roped in after the scandalous ball-tampering incident has been on the road continuously. First, a home series against India which was followed by the World Cup and then the Ashes. Speaking to a leading broadcaster, Justin Langer said that he is enjoying the simple things once more. He added that simple things like being home in his own bed, walking the dog every morning, being in the garden, having a game of golf with his dad or having home-cooked dinner every night gave him energy. He termed the relentless nature of the game to be the hardest part as there is constant pressure. He said that irrespective of the result of a game, there is always the pressure of making decisions every day like – team selection, what to train, how to prepare the boys to lift them or to keep them level, what to reply to the media, what to tell the players – which gets really tiring and he highlighted the importance of these short periods that helps him to rejuvenate.
