Delhi Capitals post a video about R Ashwin's cricketing journey in IPL

Delhi Capitals tweeted a video which showcased the IPL journey of Ravichandran Ashwin. KXIP skipper Ashwin was traded by the franchise to Delhi Capitals.

Experienced campaigner Ravichandran Ashwin was recently traded by Kings XI Punjab to Delhi Capitals. The off-spinner led the Punjab-based team in 2018 and 2019 editions of Indian Premier League (IPL). KXIP failed to reach the playoffs on both occasions, winning just 12 matches out of their 28 in the past two seasons.

Delhi Capitals post a video on R. Ashwin’s IPL journey

After the trade, Delhi Capitals tweeted a 21-second video on their official handle which showcased the IPL journey of the cricketer thus far. Having made his IPL debut in 2009, the off-spinner has played 139 games, picking up 125 wickets across all seasons. Ashwin was also part of the Chennai Super Kings IPL winning squad in 2009 and 2010 editions.

India’s premier Test spinner made a grand return to the playing XI during the home series against South Africa last month. The right-arm bowler scalped 15 Protean wickets across three Tests and emerged as the highest wicket-taker of the series. One of India’s finest spin bowlers to ever play the game, Ravichandran Ashwin has represented India in 68 Tests, 111 ODI’s and 46 T20I’s, taking a combined 559 international wickets across all formats. He was also a part of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad under MS Dhoni.

Bangladesh tour of India 2019

The Bangladesh cricket team is currently on a tour to India to play three T20Is and two Test matches. Ravichandran Ashwin is selected in India’s 15-man squad and will continue to spearhead India’s spin attack after his impressive performance against South Africa last month. The first Test will be played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on November 14.
