As Halloween was celebrated across the world, multiple celebrities shared their Halloween posts. Cricket players also celebrated the eve in their own way. Among them was Indian pinch hitter Hardik Pandya who posted a picture on Instagram as a story. Taking to Instagram, Hardik posted a picture of his childhood with other lads in which he looked different than now. The picture also has his brother and Mumbai Indians cricketer Krunal Pandya. Hardik even added a laughter emoji on this picture to make the moment lighter.

West Indian cricketer Chris Gayle also posted a picture of him and Yuvraj Singh, in a cheeky post wishing the latter a Happy Halloween. Fans loved the post as a few reacted on the picture while a few tagged Yuvraj to make him notice.

Gayle tagged Yuvraj in a post that now has over 49,000 likes. The photo shows Yuvraj and Gayle, both wearing masks, in what looks like a picture from an IPL after-party. Yuvraj and Gayle shared the locker room at the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014 and the picture could have been taken at that time. Yuvraj posted the photo on his own account as well, adding the caption "this time I got you kaka" - which probably refers to an incident the two cricketers shared during the time the photo was taken. His photo garnered over 2,41,000 likes. Yuvraj posted another photo of the same night with another angle to his face.

Halloween Origins

Halloween is a holiday celebrated across the world on October 31 every year. The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain in Europe when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honour all saints. Soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a day of activities like trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns, festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating treats.
