Team India is blessed with talented individuals in its camp and it is safe to say that there is no dearth of candidates who can be superstars in the future. While the recently culminated West Indies series pushed Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma to the fore, the ongoing Ireland series might give headway to IPL supremos like Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rinku Singh. Gaikwad, who is also been entrusted to lead India in the Asian Games 2023, has a crucial couple of months ahead of him. If he fares well as the leader then he can come in the fray of becoming a permanent captain in the future, something that an ex-cricketer also anticipates.

Former India cricketer Kiran More is of the view that Gaikwad could fare well in all the formats, and the maiden Test cap might not be far from him. As per More, the right-hander has got an ideal temperament to become the future captain of Team India and playing under MS Dhoni might have imbibed the leadership instinct in him. Here's what he said.
“I'm waiting for his (Gaikwad) Test debut. Both (Gaikwad and Jaiswal) are outstanding players. Ruturaj can play all formats, his basics are so correct. He can be the future captain of India as well, he has got a great temperament. He's playing under MS Dhoni, so he must have learnt things about handling the team and handling the situations. He's a quality player, and I'm waiting for him to make his Test debut,” More said on JioCinema.
