It has been an incredible Test season for ex-Australian skipper Steve Smith, as he continued to extend his dominance over the opposition in the longer format of the game. While Steve Smith's comeback to the red-ball format has left everyone shell-shocked, the former Australian skipper has managed to climb back to the number one rankings for Test batsmen, edging past Virat Kohli who is at the second rank. Steve Smith's nine consecutive 50+ scores has put him second to none other than Australian Test legend Don Bradman. Statistics reveal that Steve Smith's average, currently at 66, will not drop his average even if he goes for a duck in the next few games. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, had a rollercoaster of a series against the Windies. While India completed a series win over the West Indies, skipper Kohli was not in his usual dynamic form, and even slipped to the second spot in the ICC Test rankings for batsmen. However, both Steve Smith and Virat Kohli are hailed as the legends of modern-day cricket and often a war breaks out between the fans of the two.

ICC photoshops Steve Smith's photo into G.O.A.T

ICC took to its social media to handle to share a picture of Steve Smith with an old fan. In the picture, Steve Smith's face was photoshopped into that of a 'goat' (Greatest of all time) as observed from another person's phone whose camera is capturing the picture of Smith and the old fan. Steve Smith has been in an incredible form throughout the Ashes, marking his return to the longer format of the game with much class and zeal. The former skipper has single-handedly saved Australia of the blushes on more than one occasion. As Australia head into the fifth Ashes Test, they would hope to complete the mission by a series win and all eyes are expected to be on Steve Smith once again, waiting for yet another masterclass. Here is the picture posted by ICC on the micro-blogging website:

Netizens say it is Virat Kohli

Steve Smith might have stolen the spotlight with his magnificent performances recently but Indian skipper Virat Kohli has an equally strong fan following who believes that he is the best cricketer in the world. Often, Smith and Kohli are compared to Ronaldo and Messi for being the G.O.A.Ts of the game. Virat Kohli had a successful Test series win over the West Indies, although he did not contribute much in the matches. However, Virat Kohli is known to be the most consistent Indian cricketer and is mostly feared by the players of the opposition. As ICC took to post the photoshopped picture of Steve Smith, netizens thronged the comments box with whom they thought was the G.O.A.T and it was none other than Virat Kohli.
