Bangladesh registered a historic win over India riding on the back off Rahim's impressive half-century in New Delhi on Sunday. This was their first win over India in nine T20Is. But there was an area of concern that the team needs to work on.

Rahim got lucky on three occasions as he should have been out three times. Twice he should have been out lbw but the umpire signalled not out and unfortunately for India, both times skipper Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant decided to not take the review. Then in the 18th over when 33 runs were required off16 balls, Krunal Pandya dropped a regulation catch at deep mid-wicket.

Rahim made the most of the lives that he got and thrashed India with both hands. In the 19th over, when it could have been anybody's game Rahim smashed Khaleel Ahmed for four consecutive boundaries. There was no coming back from that as India only had 4 runs to defend in the last over.

Three wrong DRS calls in one over

The wicketkeeper’s insight is crucial when teams decide whether or not to take their review. The reasons why MS Dhoni is still considered the best Indian wicketkeeper is because of his accuracy with the DRS. Such was his success with the DRS that people started referring to it as the 'Dhoni Review System'.

In the 10th over of the Bangladesh innings which was bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal India went wrong with their DRS call thrice. Chahal stuck Rahim on the pads in two consecutive deliveries. Rohit discussed with Pant and Chahal after the first and decided not to take the DRS. There was not even a discussion for the second. India assumed that the ball had pitched outside leg stump. However, replays would show that both balls pitched in line and that both would have gone on to hit the stumps. India also took their review and lost it in the same over. Pant felt there was an inside edge off the bat as he collected the last ball of the over. India took the review only to find there was no inside edge.

India will now play Bangladesh in the 2nd T20I in Rajkot on Thursday.
