Team India will face South Africa in the second Test match in Pune on Thursday, October 10, 2019. Virat Kohli-led Indian team will like to continue their dominance by winning the match. India won the last Test against the Proteas by 203 runs. However, Kohli and team should not take South Africa lightly as Faf du Plessis' side is capable of making an incredible comeback.

Ind vs SA 2nd Test: Weather and pitch report

For the past month, Pune has witnessed some unexpected rains. Due to bad weather, the curators couldn't prepare the pitch. The pitch is expected to stay covered up in the morning but the sun may come out in the afternoon. All the five days of the Test are expected to have some thunderstorm and rain. The pitch is expected to be damp and might help pacers for quite some time.

Ind vs SA 2nd Test: Team India news

Team India would want to win this Test as they would automatically win the ongoing series 2-0. Rohit Sharma is proving to be an excellent opener as he has slammed hundred in both the innings of the opening Test. Rohit’s opening partner Mayank Agarwal is also in good form as he has slammed his maiden ton in the first Test. The duo would like to do the same in the red-ball format but the weather conditions in Pune are going to be challenging due to the rain forecast. Despite the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, the duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will once again take charge of the team’s bowling department.

Ind vs SA 2nd Test: South Africa news

Despite losing in Vizag, the South African squad will come into the match with confidence as they have showcased good cricket in the previous Test. Their batsmen scored runs and their bowlers delivered decent overs in the second innings. Overall their batting excelled in the previous test but captain Faf du Plessis expects an even better performance from his young team. The senior players of the team like Dean Elgar, Quinton de Kock and even captain Faf du Plessis are expected to shine in the next test.
