Having missed the 2018 edition, David Warner stormed back into the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a bang by scoring 85 on his very first return for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

The swashbuckling Australian opener oozed class as he launched into the Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) bowlers in his side's opening fixture of the 2019 season at the Eden Gardens.

Warner looked on song, right from the word go. He made a cautious start in the earlier part of the innings, but once he got set, there was no stopping him. He scored his 37th IPL fifty in just 31 balls, and made sure SRH fans weren't missing their skipper Kane Williamson.

Here's how the Twitterati reacted to his sensational comeback to the IPL:

The former SRH skipper shared a brilliant 118-run stand with his opening partner Jonny Bairstow, which laid the platform for a big score. The two toiled with the KKR bowlers, and gave their side a morale-boosting start.

Though, following the dismissal of Bairstow for 39 in the 13th over, the scoring rate came down. Warner tried to keep the momentum going with Vijay Shankar, but in the process, lost his wicket when he looked set for a well made century.

SRH struggled following the dismissal of its two openers, and despite some late blitz by Shankar, could only end up with 181 for 3 in their 20 overs.
