Jasprit Bumrah hints at comeback with a picture, says "Coming Soon"

India's premium death-bowler Jasprit Bumrah is en route on recovery from his stress fracture in his lower back and is expected to return sooner than expected. A few days earlier, reports suggested that surgery had been called off for Jasprit Bumrah as his stress fracture had healed naturally. Reports also suggested that Jasprit Burmah had begun light exercises and had started running as preparatory processes to making a comeback for the national side. All eyes are on Jasprit Bumrah to see if he can race against time and battle to be fit in time for India's tour against New Zealand in December. Jasprit Bumrah took to Twitter to post a picture of himself working out in the gym with a caption that hinted at his return to the field.

According to media reports, sources in the BCCI have revealed that Jasprit Bumrah is on auto-healing mode and is on the track of proper recovery. The source said that Jasprit Bumrah has begun light exercises alongside running and said that he will be assessed after Diwali. India's bowling coach Bharat Arun said that he was expecting Jasprit Bumrah to return for the series against New Zealand and clarified that Jasprit Bumrah does not require surgery, according to media reports. Jasprit Bumrah had suffered from a similar stress fracture earlier which had healed naturally, just like this one.

The batting and bowling duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Smriti Mandhana are the two Indians among the five winners of the prestigious Wisden India Almanack Cricketer of the Year award which was announced on Friday. Meanwhile, the other winners include the likes of Pakistan opening batsman Fakhar Zaman, Sri Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and Afghanistan cricketer Rashid Khan. Meanwhile, young Test opener Mayank Agarwal's name also features in this list for his outstanding performance in domestic cricket which had paved way to his call-up in the national team in for the longest format of the game. Smriti Mandhana, on the other hand, has now become the third woman to be named 'Cricketer of the Year', after Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma.
