Pakistan recently hosted Sri Lanka to mark the return of international cricket in the country after two years. After a wash-out in the first game, the hosts won the next two matches to pocket the ODI series 2-0. The Sri Lankan team, who were missing some of the biggest names from their line-up, came back strongly in the three-match T20I series that followed. Sri Lanka ended their tour on a high by defeating World No 1 T20 side 3-0 in the shortest format of the game.

The cricketing action between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is reportedly set to continue with a two-match Test series in December. Initially, the series was planned to be played in UAE citing security concerns. However, after the successful limited-overs series in the country earlier this month, the PCB has sent a revised itinerary to the Sri Lankan board. According to reports, there are talks going on between the two boards and there are chances that Sri Lanka will once again visit Pakistan for a short series.

According to the PCB’s itinerary, the first Test will be played in Rawalpindi between December 11 and 15 while the second Test will be played in Karachi from December 19 onwards. The last time Pakistan hosted a Test match was back in 2009 when the Sri Lankan team bus was attacked by gunmen on their way to the stadium for Day 3 of the second match. The report states that if Test series against Sri Lanka becomes a success then Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will also agree to send their team in January 2020.
