Rajasthan Royals held their nerves to register a three-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday. There were some memorable moments in the game which included Varun Aaron's impressive bowling spell, a captain's knock from Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell's perfectly balanced catch, Riyan Parag's stellar cameo and Jofra Archer's finishing touches. However, there was one bizarre incident that created a lot of confusion and restlessness in the game.

The incident happened in the 19th over of Rajasthan's run chase which was bowled by Andre Russell and Riyan Parag was on strike. In the fourth ball, Russell bowled a bouncer as the youngster attempted a hook shot. But, while attempting the shot, his bat hit the bails and thereby, disturbing the timber. The shot which he had attempted was perfectly timed and the ball went over the keeper's head for four. Meanwhile, umpire Ian Gould not only signalled it as a boundary but he also signalled a no-ball as Russell pointed towards the wicket to indicate that the batsman was out. Astonishingly, Gould signalled it as a dead ball. With a lot of confusion out in the middle, the umpire decided to approach the third umpire. Replays showed that Parag's bat had made contact with the stumps and he was given out 'Hit-Wicket'.

It brought curtains on the 17-year old's splendid knock. He scored a 31-ball 47 at a strike rate of 151.61 and brought his team to the cusp of victory. However, the manner in which he was dismissed stunned everyone in the dugout. Rajasthan skipper Steven Smith was seen putting his hands on the head in disbelief.
