Smriti Mandhana reveals her relaxing therapy at home post injury break

Smriti Mandhan was recently sidelined from India women's cricket team for One-day series against the visiting South Africans after she suffered a toe injury.

Indian women's cricket team opener Smriti Mandhana seems to be enjoying her little break away from international cricket. She was recently sidelined from the One-Day series against the visiting South Africans after she suffered a toe injury. The left-handed opener making full use of the break from the rigours of international cricket by polishing her cooking skills. Taking to her Instagram account, she shared a couple of pictures to give her fans a sneak-peak of her hidden talent. She captioned the post, “My relaxing therapy! Had a good time with my assistant chef Purnima.”

Smriti Mandhana career

Mandhana has become the mainstay of the national side in the past three years and also reached the No 1 ranking of ICC batswoman of the year. Her time at the top was cut short as she lost the coveted spot to the White Ferns’ captain, Amy Satterthwaite.

Smriti Mandhana accolades

The stylish left-handed opener won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the year besides also winning the ICC Women’s One-Day International player of the year for her exploits last year.

The 23-year-old, was also named in the ICC Women’s ODI Team of the Year and the ICC Women’s T20I of the Year, scoring 669 runs at an average of 66.90 in 12 ODIs and 622 runs at a strike-rate of 130.67 in 25 Twenty20 Internationals during the voting period.

Recently, Smriti Mandhana won the prestigious Wisden India Almanack Cricketer of the Year award which was announced in Bengaluru earlier this month. She along with Jasprit Bumrah, Sri Lanka ‘s Test and ODI captain Dimuth Karunaratne, Afghanistan teenage sensation Rashid Khan, Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman was among the five recipients of the coveted honour.
