Athlete Neeraj Chopra, who is only 25 years old, has accomplished feats that others might only imagine. The talented athlete won gold in the javelin throw at the 2023 World Athletics Championship on Sunday night in Budapest, Hungary, with a phenomenal effort of 88.17 metres in the javelin throw.

Neeraj Chopra creates history at the World Athletics Championships 2023 

On his first attempt, Neeraj Chopra launched the Monday night final with a foul throw. But after a little period of recovery, he made the best throw of the tournament on his second try. He put in an excellent effort in his second throw, extending his advantage on the table with an amazing distance of 88.17m. With Chopra's victory, an Indian won the gold medal for the first time ever in the World Athletics Championships. Second place went to Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem (87.82m), while third place went to the Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch (86.67m). 

He now has a gold medal from the World Athletics Championship to add to his impressive collection of medals. According to current data, his 2022 silver medal was India's sole other medal from the World Athletics Championship, surpassing Anju Bobby George's bronze in the women's long jump in 2003 in Paris. Chopra has now qualified for the upcoming Olympics in Paris next year. If he continues like this, he can bring another medal to India, as he is currently ranked first in the world.

Cricket world congratulates Neeraj Chopra 

Irfan Pathan, Virender Sehwag, Wasim Jaffer, VVS Laxman, Dinesh Karthik, Manoj Tiwary, Harsha Bhogle, and Harbhajan Singh, along with other cricketers, posted greetings on Twitter congratulating Neeraj Chopra for winning the gold medal at the 2023 World Athletics Championship. The World of cricket is yet to witness the biggest stage of cricket as India hosts the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 from October 5, 2023.
