Umesh Yadav's ripper bounces off Hasan's elbow, cannons onto stumps

Umesh Yadav has been having an excellent home season with the red-ball. He had shone with the ball in the previous series against South Africa and had also played a stellar cameo with the bat where he had shattered records of some renowned batsmen. Even in the first Test against Bangladesh, Umesh stood out both with the bat and the ball. He had played yet another remarkable cameo of a 10-ball 25 at a strike rate of 250 including a boundary and three maximums. However, it was a lethal delivery from the 'Vidharbha Express' that grabbed the spotlight.

Wicket for Umesh, agony for Mehidy

Umesh Yadav had the last laugh when he dismissed Mehidy Hasan when he was involved in a crucial partnership with wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim. It happened on the final ball of the 55th over. Umesh Yadav had bowled a slightly shorter delivery outside off stump which came back in well. Mehidy Hasan attempted to play it but then decided to change his mind at the very last moment and the ball struck him viciously on his elbow, made contact with his body and then shattered the stumps. Nonetheless, it was a wicket for Umesh but agony for Mehidy as he was seen holding his elbow while walking back to the pavilion. India in the driver's seat

India declared their innings at 493/6 on Day 2 with a massive 343-run lead. The bowlers once again rose to the occasion for the hosts as the Bangladeshi top-order was sent back to the pavilion in no time. Meanwhile, veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim stood firmly at one end and staged a fightback single-handedly. Apart from a couple of batsmen, he got no support from the other end as India need three more wickets to end the proceedings at Indore.
