Paying rich tribute to the unreal talent which is Virat Kohli, Cricket Australia has chosen the Indian skipper as the captain of their ODI Team of the Year 2018, while also picking three other Indian players in the XI.

Kohli, who enjoyed a stellar 2018, had scored 1202 runs from 14 matches at an insane average of 133.55 in ODIs. He is joined in the team by pace bowling sensation Jasprit Bumrah, chinaman wonder Kuldeep Yadav and 'Hitman' Rohit Sharma.

Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, no Australian player has been picked in the team chosen by its own country's cricketing body, further highlighting the tough year they have had. No player from New Zealand or South Africa have been picked as well.

Apart from four Indians, England has the second most representation, with three of their players being picked. England skipper Joe Root, and wicketkeepers Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow have made the cut.

Thisara Perera has been picked as the all-rounder, Rashid Khan as the second spinner, Shimron Hetmyer as the middle-order batsman and Mustafizur Rahman as the second fast-bowler.
