Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Kings XI Punjab by 45 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday. There were a lot of memorable moments in this match which included David Warner's splendid match-winning knock in his final IPL game of this season which was followed by an emotional farewell speech, Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin taking a stunning catch but spilling it at the very last moment and Chris Gayle chasing away the Spider Cam and scoring an own-goal while fielding. Apart from these moments, there was yet another moment that involved Chris Gayle.

It happened in the third over of KXIP's run chase which was bowled by Khaleed Ahmed and Gayle was on strike. Khaleel bowled a slower delivery outside off stump and Gayle who had not yet played any big shots by then slashed at it impatiently. However, he did not time the ball nicely as the ball went a long way up in the air and landed straight into the hands of Manish Pandey. Nonetheless, Pandey who was completely focused and also had his eyes on the ball while attempting the catch almost made a mess of it. After taking the catch, he had almost spilled the ball as he fell down. He had juggled the ball twice but in the end, held on to it and completed a spectacular catch as his team-mates joined him for some hi-fives and the home fans erupted in joy.

Pandey had earlier made his contributions with the bat as well. He had played a handy knock of a 25-ball 36. He had added 82 runs with David Warner for the second wicket. Warner who was playing his final game of the season ensured a good start for the 'Orange Army' after they were put into bat by Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin. The dynamic Australian opening batsman stitched in a 78-run opening stand with Wriddhiman Saha. He played brilliant innings of a 56-ball 81at a strike rate of 144.64. His blistering knock helped SRH in posting a huge total of 212/6 in their 20 overs. 

In reply, Punjab could only manage 167/8 in their 20 overs riding on KL Rahul's valiant knock of a 56-ball 79.
