The Indian Cricket team which is a point away from qualifying for the semi-finals of World Cup 2019 will look to extend their undefeated run at the grand event when they face the host team, England, at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Sunday.

Former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar has urged his fellow Pakistani citizens to back the Indian squad against the host team on Sunday.

On his YouTube channel, Akhtar said he wants the whole country to back India on social media and also on public news since they need England to be out of this tournament.
After its three-wicket win over Afghanistan, Pakistan has moved to the fourth place in its points-table, moving the host nation, England to the fifth spot in the World Cup.

Pakistan will now meet Bangladesh in their final and most an important group match which will determine whether or not they make it to the semi-finals. However, only one win for the Men in Green won't be enough they have to hope that Bangladesh and England both lose their remaining matches to fix their semi-final seat.

In the video that Akhtar posted addressing his Pakistani fans, he expressed that he finds it really odd that as a Pakistani he's saying this and requesting his fellow countrymen to support whoever they think is right, having said that the former Pakistani cricketer added, "you drink their waters, so you better support them. You live in England, so support England. You eat in England, so support England. However, as Pakistanis in Pakistan, we want Pakistan to qualify. If England get knocked out and Pakistan win against Bangladesh, the way will open up for us."

He also said that he would be really keen to see India and Pakistan lock horns in the semi-finals at the World Cup.

"And if India top the points table, and Pakistan finish fourth, the semi-final would be between the two teams. I want to see this match. The entire world wants to see this match. I know that Pakistan will ruin India's happiness in the semi-finals because somehow we're going to manage to reach the finals," Akhtar concluded
