Delhi Capitals will be locking horns with the defending champions Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 2 at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium on Friday. The winner will face Mumbai Indians in the final at Hyderabad on Sunday. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians made it to their fifth IPL final after registering a six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings. They will now be aiming to win their fourth IPL title and at the same time, also become the first team in the tournament's history to win more than three titles.

Before Mumbai's opponents are revealed, their head coach Mahela Jayawardene came forward to discuss what he had in his mind ahead of the grand finale and also talked about MI's season.

"It has been a consistent season, in the sense that we set ourselves a few targets like we always do. This year particularly we wanted to make sure that we got a good start so that we were not behind and trying to catch up on the table."

The former Sri Lankan batsman also talked about how MI managed to register some key wins.

"Once we settled into a good rhythm of bowlers and batsmen identifying their roles, we got those wins, especially in the middle period."

The World T20 winner also highlighted about how the players performed during crunch situations.

"The way the season went it still came to those last few games to decide whether we were going to be at the top two in the table and the boys responded really well. The performance levels have actually peaked at the right time and the energy levels are good."

At the same time, the 41-year old had only one important message and also mentioned what he felt ahead of the summit clash.

"The message is always going to be that it is another game of cricket because nothing changes. Yes, it is a final and there will be a different atmosphere to it, but it is a match that you have to turn up and do your basics, get off to a good start, have a good tempo, take control of the situations. So, we will try and continue to do whatever we have done throughout the season and make sure that the guys are not too nervous."

Mumbai Indians shared this conversation on Twitter. Take a look.
