"What a great day!": Netizens react to David Warner's 100 on birthday

Australia's star opener David Warner on Sunday notched up his maiden T20 century against Sri Lanka on his birthday and helped the team score a massive 233 runs in the first T20 against Sri Lanka in Adelaide. Warner achieved the feat in just 56 balls as he smashed the Lankan bowlers all over the ground. 64 of his runs came in boundaries which comprised of 10 fours and four long hits. Twitterattis burst out with some fantastic reactions as Warner smashed a century on his birthday to get the party started.

Glen Maxwell joins the party

Australia's skipper Aaron Finch stitched a solid opening partnership with David Warner before he was dismissed for 64 runs. Glen Maxwell took over from Aaron Finch and raced away to his fifty off just 22 balls. Glen Maxwell smashed consecutive sixes en route to his fifty and played the helicopter shot to get to his half-century. Sri Lanka's Kasutha Ranjitha became the most expensive bowler in T20I after he conceded 75 runs in his four overs.

Australia win the first T20

Australia handed Sri Lanka a huge 134-run defeat in the first T20 at The Oval, Adelaide in the first T20 match on Sunday as the preparations for the World T20 went underway. Chasing a mammoth target of 234 runs, Sri Lanka's batting order collapsed to the pressure of the Australian bowlers, with spinner Adam Zampa picking up three scalps while pacers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins picked up two wickets each. Sri Lanka's highest run-scorer in the match was Dasun Shanaka, who scored 17 runs, followed by skipper Lasith Malinga and Kusal Perera.
