‘Mr. Cool’ Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the longest-serving wicket-keeper and the most successful captain for the Indian Cricket Team turned 38 on Sunday. Known for being lightning fast behind the stumps, helicopter shots, and most importantly his cricketing wits and smarts make him one of the biggest icons the game of cricket has seen.
Dhoni has won all cricketing accolades including captaining India to triumph at the 2011 ODI World Cup, 2007 T20 World Cup, and Champions Trophy. No other captain has achieved this feat. Apart from these achievements, Mahi had also taken India to the top spot in ICC Test rankings in 2009 and had also captained them to two Asia Cup triumphs in 2010 and 2016 respectively.
As wished poured in for the veteran wicket-keeper batsman, even his Indian team-mate and young all-rounder Hardik Pandya joined in wishing MSD on social media. Pandya wrote "Happy birthday Mahi bhai! Everyday spent with you is a chance to learn and grow. Thank you for being one of the biggest role models in my life". He also shared a video of him and the 2011 World Cup-winning skipper where the duo was seen re-enacting the epic 'Helicopter Shot'.

Hardik Pandya is no stranger to the helicopter shot as the 25-year-old was seen playing it numerous times this year.
Even the netizens came forward to wish MSD.
Meanwhile, India finished their group stage at the summit of the points table after their seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka with seven wins from their nine games and 15 points in their tally. They consolidated the top spot after South Africa defeated the reigning World Champions Australia by 10 runs.
The Men In Blue will now face New Zealand in the semi-final at the Old Trafford in Manchester on Tuesday.
