Cristiano Ronaldo's career: A look back at the star player's goals

Cristiano Ronaldo, a recipient of a record five Ballon d'Or awards and four European Golden Shoes awards, has tasted success which can be matched only by a handful of footballers. He is often considered as the best active football player in the world and also categorized among the greatest of all time. Ronaldo plays as a forward for his Italian-based club Juventus and he is also the captain of his national team Portugal. He is the second highest-paid footballer and one of the highest-earning athletes worldwide.

Before joining Juventus for the 2018-19 season, the star athlete was also a crucial member of Manchester United from 2003 till 2009. Later, ‘The Sultan of the Step-over’ joined Real Madrid where he played nine editions of La Liga for the Spanish-based club. For all his clubs combined, the 34-year old has won a total of 29 trophies in his illustrious career. Be it UEFA Champions League, UEFA European Championship, UEFA Nations League or League titles, Ronaldo has been a key member for his team’s victorious campaigns.

Ronaldo’s goals & other statistics:

In his 160 International appearances for Portugal, Ronaldo has scored a record 93 goals which is second only to Iranian legend Ali Daei’s tally of 109 goals. However, among the active international footballers, Ronaldo’s count of goals remains the highest. His club record is as impressive as his international record, as the 34-year old has scored over 600 goals till date in all his club appearances. His most successful stint was with Real Madrid where he scored 450 goals in nine La Liga tournaments.

While he played for Manchester United in Premier League and other championships, he scored 118 goals in 292 matches. After his successful time with the two clubs, Ronaldo signed a new deal with Juventus FC which became the highest ever transfer for an Italian club. The transfer reaped dividends as the Portuguese star was instrumental in his side’s 35^th Serie A title. He scored 28 goals for the Italian-based side in his Serie A debut and his currently playing in the ongoing edition for Juventus’ title defense.
