On Matchday 2, Real Madrid faced Club Brugge at the Bernabeu and the match ended as a draw. After Club Brugge got the early advantage on Real Madrid, captain Sergio Ramos and Casemiro saved the team from a loss by scoring in the 55th and the 85th minute, respectively.

Galatasaray faced Paris Saint-Germain on Matchday 2 and ended up losing the match. Galatasaray were not able to open their scoring while PSG's Mauro Icardi got the team a single goal lead in the 52nd minute, which they were then able to maintain.
