LaLiga: Atletico drew away to Alaves after a screamer from Lucas Perez denies them three points as they trail Barcelona by two points having played a game more

Atletico Madrid's form has dried up after struggling to register victories at the moment. Already their fifth draw in the league this season, manager Diego Simeone has a lot of thinking to do before they face Sevilla on Saturday. The game was nothing but a bust for the visitors who yet again dropped points, this time to Alaves.

Injury to youngster Joao Felix has somehow taken the venom out of Atletico's attack as they have failed to create many chances yet another time leading to a dull draw. The first half was particularly poor as neither side came close to scoring. The second half felt more of a contest as both sides had chances to snatch a lead, particularly Renan Lodi coming close for the visitors. Alvaro Morata came from the bench and finally opened the scoring for Atletico in the 70th minute.  As it seemed, the visitors were heading towards a well-fought victory, Lucas Perez continued his fine form as he equalised for the home side in the 83rd minute. It was also a goal of great quality as his left-foot strike from 25 yards out curled past Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak. The game ended at one apiece.
