Manchester United's owners, the Glazers, and Chief Ed Woodward might have just the perfect opportunity to re-sign former United forward Cristiano Ronaldo, as per UK media. Ronaldo was substituted for the second straight game as Juventus beat AC Milan 1-0. According to reports, as Ronaldo walked down the tunnel, he did not even look at Maurizio Sarri.

Reportedly, Ronaldo was substituted because of straining his knee but sources claim that the reason was entirely something else. Ronaldo is rumoured to have wanted his former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho to come to Juventus in order to turn the Old Lady into potential Champions League winners. Since then, Cristiano has refuted all claims linking him away from Juventus even though Sarri was not the unanimous choice amongst the club fans.

'Never wanted to sell Ronaldo'

The Glazers were apparently unhappy when Ronaldo was sold to Real Madrid for a world-record fee, and since then, has apparently tried at times to bring the striker back to the Theatre of Dreams.

'Ronaldo was frustrated due to knee problem'

Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri stated that Cristiano Ronaldo's angry reaction while being substituted was due to a minor knee problem he had sustained a few days ago. Ronaldo was taken off play due to a sore knee as his adductor had easily got tired.

Ronaldo was substituted in the 82nd minute in his Champions League group stage match against Lokomotiv Moscow on November 6 in the capital city of Moscow. Sarri said that he feared that Ronaldo would hurt himself and that is the reason he substituted the forward and sent Dybala in his place.

According to reports, as Ronaldo walked off the pitch, he could be seen being involved in a very short conversation with Maurizio. In a press conference after the match, the Juventus manager said that Cristiano was frustrated as he was not able to play to his full potential during the group stage match.

Additionally, Ronaldo endured a disappointing evening as he failed to break the record of scoring against the most number of clubs in the Champions League. However, his first-half free-kick was netted by Aaron Ramsey right on the goal line to deny the former Manchester United striker the first goal of the match.
