Manchester United will only be signing players that are on top of their list in the coming January transfer window, according to reports. The Red Devils are expected to spend a lot in order to bring big names to Old Trafford. According to reports, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Executive Chief Ed Woodward have singled out James Maddison, Declan Rice and Jadon Sancho are their main targets during the January window. Manchester United is also expected to bid for Erling Haaland who impressed the United scouts by scoring a total of 27 goals in 18 games for RB Salzburg this particular season.

Manchester United's January transfer plans

According to reports, Haaland's father was seen at the Carrington training ground, fueling rumors of a potential 100 million pounds transfer to Manchester United.

It is being said that the United will only move for those players who they consider long term potential summer targets and not a signing that will temporarily boost their chances for a top 4 finish this season and that cancels out a potential transfer for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic, who was expected to join the Red Devils in the current season.

'Signing Aaron Wan Bissaka was a mistake'

Steve Walsh stated that Manchester United made a mistake in signing Aaron Wan Bissaka instead they should have signed Athletico Madrid's Kieran Trippier. Walsh further added that probably it was too early to make a comment on Bissaka's future at the theatre of dreams but spending 50 million pounds on a player who is still learning and is not the best when he has the ball is a thing to look out for.

Walsh also said that Bissaka is a very fast, quick and strong defender but as of now United needs a defender who can play and take control of the ball. He also said that by chance if he would have been with the Red Devils then he would have told them to go and buy Kieran Trippier with the 50 million pounds they had in their kitty.
