The Portland Trail Blazers suffered a shock 118-127 loss on Monday night which gave the Golden State Warriors their first win at Chase Center, their new home. The win came as a surprise considering the current injury crisis that the Warriors are embroiled in. They have lost a host of first-team regulars to rash injuries since Game 5 of last year's finals.
NBA superstar Damian Lillard could not prevent his side from losing as they went down to a young and determined Golden State Warriors team who made their way to a 127-118 win on Monday. Lillard admitted that his team were second best on the occasion and criticised his teammates of undermining their opponents. However, Lillard, who notched his fourth 30-point performance in the first seven games with 39 points on 15-for-26 shooting, went on to marvel at the effort and dedication put in by the young GSW players, who stepped in the absence of key players and pulled off a surprise win.
The Golden State Warriors are without the likes of NBA All-stars - Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. Durant is out with an Achilles injury while Curry broke his left hand in last week's loss to Phoenix Suns and is expected to be out of action for the next three months. They are also without the services of Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, who are under rehabilitation from ligament injuries. Portland's Damian Lillard claimed that GSW's injury crisis is unheard of in modern-day basketball.
