League leaders Liverpool gear up for a trip to Villa Park to face Aston Villa on Matchday 11 of the Premier League. Dean Smith's Aston Villa are currently 15th on the table, just three points above 18th-placed Southampton.

Aston Villa, who were promoted this season after a productive display in the Championship, have registered just three wins so far. Their last outing in the Premier League was a 3-0 defeat at the Etihad at the hands of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. However, of the three promoted sides, Aston Villa are arguably better off than Norwich City, who currently sit 19th in the Premier League table. After registering a convincing win over their fellow Premier League newcomers, Aston Villa went on to register another win, Graham Potter's Brighton & Hove Albion being the victims this time. A 3-0 loss to Manchester City, however, has slowed down their momentum.

Aston Villa vs Liverpool: Liverpool in red hot form

Liverpool, on the other hand, are flying high after a win over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool may have missed a trick or two during their 1-1 draw with Manchester United, but Liverpool did well to register a win over Tottenham after conceding a goal in the first minute of the game. Goals from Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah secured the three points for Jurgen Klopp's side, courtesy of which they preserved their six-point lead at the top. Needless to say, Liverpool are enjoying some fine form this season. After playing out a thrilling 5-5 draw against Arsenal in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, Liverpool will look to build on their goal difference against a side that has conceded 16 goals so far in the Premier League.
