Tottenham finished fourth in 2009/10, which made them qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 1962. Spurs were only 1-0 ahead at half-time. Forty-two minutes passed between Peter Crouch’s ninth-minute opener and Jermain Defoe’s first of five goals on this most profitable of afternoons at White Hart Lane. Aaron Lennon, David Bentley and Niko Kranjcar also registered their names on the score-sheet.

3. Newcastle United 8-0 Sheffield Wednesday (1999)

After Newcastle went on to lose four of their first five games in the 1999-00 campaign, Ruud Gullit resigned which paved the way for Bobby Robson to arrive in Tyneside in September. Alan Shearer scored five times which included two penalties plus efforts from Aaron Hughes, Kieron Dyer and Gary Speed helped the Geordies register a massive win. 1. Southampton 0-9 Leicester (2019)

What a way to honour their beloved chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha! A year ago on this weekend, Leicester City lost their chairman in a horrific helicopter crash outside the King Power Stadium. Ben Chilwell put Leicester ahead in the 10th minute, and during the same passage, Ryan Bertrand was sent off via a VAR-assisted decision. Leicester raced to 3-0 inside 19 minutes courtesy of strikes from Youri Tielemans and Ayoze Perez where the latter ended the game with a hat-trick. James Maddison scored a beautiful free-kick which took their tally to eight. Vardy ended up with 4 goals to his name which befitted this all-time biggest Premier League away win.
