"Built like a tank" were the words thrown around on social media platforms when Arsenal completed the signing of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke 04. The Bosnian left-back stood true to these words during an attempted carjacking incident in July. As two carjackers dressed in black tried to rob the Arsenal duo of Sead Kolasinac and Mesut Ozil, Kolasinac stood tall to fearlessly fight off the attackers during the incident.

Sead Kolasinac bravely fights off armed attackers

New footage has emerged of the attempted carjacking which shows one of the two attackers wielding a blade of sorts. The video shows Kolasinac standing outside Ozil's Mercedes G-Wagon, inside which Ozil was seated along with his wife, Amine Gulse. The armed attacker jabbed at the Bosnian defender in an attempt to rob the former Schalke duo. However, during the incident, Kolasinac showed how he had earned the nickname, 'The Tank'.

Kolasinac squared up to the armed attackers and made an attempt to knock out the attacker wielding the blade. However, after being threatened, the attackers were forced to leave empty-handed. After the incident, Mesut Ozil is reported to have asked Kolasinac to get in the vehicle, while the Arsenal duo tried to escape from the attackers. The attackers are reported to have followed them for a mile before taking refuge in a Turkish restaurant. Mesut Ozil, Amine Gulse, and Sead Kolasinac then proceeded to abandon the vehicle in the middle of the road to seek refuge in the restaurant nearby. The attackers have since pleaded guilty to the attempted robbery. One of the two is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday, November 8, while the other attacker is scheduled to be sentenced at a later date.
