UEFA Champions League matchday two kicked-off with a bang as many interesting fixtures were played. Barcelona hosted Inter Milan and Bayern Munich travelled to Tottenham. Liverpool ignored an upset against Red Bull Salzburg clinching a close 4-3 win. There were a number of goals as expected and some of them were breathtaking from every angle.
Luis Suarez scored a stunning volley after Arturo Vidal successfully picked the striker with a cross at the far post. Suarez turned and drilled the ball into the ground, sending it into the far right corner. The shot was impossible for Handanovic to block and the striker levelled the score for Barcelona. Barcelona went on to win the match 2-1 against Inter Milan.
Sadio Mane scored the first goal for Liverpool in their matchday two clash against Salzburg. Andy Robertson rolled the pass to the Senegalese forward and the winger danced his way between Salzburg defenders before playing one touch with Firmino to knock down the opener. The goal was so mesmerising that former Chelsea and Barcelona player Cesc Fabregas stated that Mane is among the best three footballers for him right now.
Mané for me is top 3 players in the world and has been for a while. Top top level.— Cesc Fàbregas Soler (@cesc4official) October 2, 2019
Bayern Munich were trailing by a goal as Son slotted home the opener in the 12th minute. Bayern Munich started the attack from outside and an overall team effort which consisted of more than 10-passes lead to Joshua Kimmich's stunner for the equaliser. Kimmich received the ball 25-yards from Spurs' net and fired the shot which left Hugo Lloris helpless. Bayern Munich went on to win the match 7-2 away from home.
Ajax player Hakim Ziyech picked up the ball on the right-wing and cut inside towards the corner of the box. He then unleashed an unstoppable, dipping strike from outside the area that swung into the top-left corner over a helpless Cillessen. Ajax clinched an easy 3-0 away win in their UEFA Champions League 2019-20 clash against Valencia.
