PKL 2019: A season packed with records and milestones

PKL 2019, which had started on July 2019, will come to an end on Saturday, October 19. Here are some of the records that have been broken during PKL season 7.

Dabang Delhi KC and Bengal Warriors will play the PKL 2019 final on Saturday, October 19 at the EKA Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad (19:30 IST). Both Dabang Delhi KC and Bengal Warriors, who were the table-toppers for PKL 2019, will be making their maiden appearance in a PKL final. PKL season 7, which began in July, has been a season of records. Some players have broken previous records, while some have achieved individual milestones.

PKL 2019: Pawan Sehrawat’s 39 raid points in a PKL match

Even though Bengaluru Bulls did not qualify for the PKL final, ‘Hi-Flyer’ Pawan Kumar Sehrawat has had a successful season. Sehrawat has a total of 339 raid points, the highest in PKL season 7. On October 2, the Hi-Flyer created history by scoring 39 raid points in their match against Haryana Steelers. He broke Pardeep Narwal’s PKL season 5 record of 34 raid points.

PKL 2019: Puneri Paltan and Telugu Titans break PKL record

On October 3, Puneri Paltan triumphed over Telugu Titans 53-50 in a pulsating encounter. It is the record for the highest tally of points in a single match. The previous record was held by the Patna Pirates and Dabang Delhi KC match on February 25, 2016. Patna had beat Delhi 67-34. Rakesh Gowda was the top scorer for the game with 17 raid points.

PKL 2019: Other records and firsts

  • Naveen Kumar has scored 20 consecutive Super 10s, the most by a player in a single PKL season.
  • Naveen Kumar also became the player to score the fastest 400 over raid points in their PKL career.
  • Pardeep Narwal became the first PKL player to cross the 1000 overall raid points.
  • Bengaluru Bulls vs UP Yoddha Eliminator was the first PKL playoffs match to end in a tie and require extra time.
  • Fazel Atrachali completes 300 tackle points overall, the fastest in PKL history.
