SmackDown's Friday Night Premier saw Brock Lesnar end Kofi Kingston six-month-long reign as WWE champion in mere seconds. Kingston had successfully defended his title against Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton before he was knocked out for counts by Lesnar before stunned audiences at the Staples Centre in LA.

Kingston entered the ring very much as the champion and immediately tried to get the upper hand by charging at Lesnar. Unfortunately for him, Lesnar was on his guard, promptly picked up Kingston and had him down for the counts. Kingston first won the WWE title in Wrestlemania 35. The win, which came after 11 years since he joined WWE, also brought to an end his long-standing feud with Bryan and Vince McMahon.

WWE: Title challenge

On September 17, Kingston and New Day had defended the title against Orton and The Revival in a six-man tag-team match on SmackDown. But they were soon challenged by Lesnar and Paul Heyman. Friday's SmackDown saw Lesnar subdue the champion to claim the title for himself.

But no WWE fight is over without a twist in the tail. As Lesnar celebrated his easy win, his celebrations were interrupted by Rey Mysterious and Cain Velasquez who confronted him.

It was a treat for the crowd, who were robbed of a Championship fight earlier. Velasquez took on Lesnar and got in some shots before the victor of the earlier match managed to escape. But it seems we will soon have another feud in WWE SmackDown if that intense stare between Velasquez and Lesnar is anything to go by.
