The Internet is all praise for two school children showcasing their somersaulting and cartwheeling skills in a video that went viral on social media last week. In the video, the two schoolchildren can be seen performing tough gymnastics moves on the side of a street with ease. The video grabbed the attention of netizens first before it earned the praise of five-time Olympic gold medalist Nadia Comaneci; and even Kiren Rijiju, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Nadia Comaneci, the five-time Olympic gold medalist and the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 at the Montreal 1976 Olympics, was awed by the kids'athleticism and skils and shared the video on her Twitter page.
Minster Kiren Rijiju who took note of Comaneci's praise, tweeted saying he was glad the ace Gymnast noticed. Rijiju then expressed his interest to meet the kids from the video. Netizens then stepped in to identify the school kids. It is speculated by some that the video was taken in Nagaland.
I'm happy that @nadiacomaneci10 tweeted it! As first gymnast who scored perfect 10.0 at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, and then, received six more perfect 10s to win three gold medals, it becomes very special. I've urged to introduce these kids to me. https://t.co/ahYVws8VCB— Kiren Rijiju (@KirenRijiju) August 30, 2019
Twitter reacted in its usual frenzy, with users praises the kids and also asking the Sports Minister to take note of their talent. One user was noted to having said it was heartewarming to note that the Indian Sports Minister was actively responding to the video and encouring the children's talents.
Wow..... Compliments from the Queen of gymnastics, former Olympian from Romania ..... Coming from you, these words will definitely inspire school going kids to take up such sports at an early stage @KirenRijiju @Adille1 @virenrasquinha— Jignesh Purohit (@Jiguz) August 29, 2019
