In a shocking series of events in WWE's Tuesday night's SmackDown Live, WWE superstar Kevin Owens was fired by SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon after Owens failed to allow Shane McMahon to proceed to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. Shane Mcmahon was the wild card entrant to the tournament after he got Elias' 'approval' to replace him in the semi-finals against Gable and he chose Kevin Owens to officiate the match in order to turn it into his favour. Kevin Owens was obligated to take up the special referee role as Shane McMahon had promised him to waive off the $100,000 fine imposed on him the previous week for stunning Shane McMahon. Elias, who was supposed to participate in the semi-finals, had to sit out as a result of a broken ankle.

Shane McMahon fires Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens was at trouble with the authorities ever since his return to the ring. His feud with Shane McMahon lasted for more than two months, with both the stars battling it out at many pay-per-view events. Kevin Owens had delivered a stunner to Shane McMahon two weeks before on SmackDown, leading to a fine of $100,000 to be imposed on him. Though Owens sought relief from Shane McMahon, the SmackDown commissioner waited for the right opportunity to use Owens and it came this past Tuesday. Shane McMahon was initially defeated by Gable following a perfect roll-up suplex from the underdog, following which he made the match a two out of three falls match. Owens tried his best to officiate neutrally but was under extreme pressure from Shane and hence made a fast count that saw the second fall go to Shane. However, in the third round, Gable astonishingly managed to get the ankle lock on, making Shane tap out. While the bell rang indicating that Gable was victorious and would proceed to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament, a frustrated Shane McMahon attacked Kevin Owens from behind and landed several punches on his face before saying 'You're fired'!.

Sami Zayn bears the brunt of the Undertaker

It is no joke that the Deadman is the most feared wrestler in the history of the industry as he has terrorized many wrestlers in the past, putting an end to their career in the business. The Undertaker was received with chants of 'Undertaker Undertaker' by the crowds, as he slowly walked through the aisle towards the ring. The Undertaker addressed the WWE universe about how the MSG was a significant arena to the company and its wrestlers as legends of the industry created their moments at the same venue. The Undertaker also said that he had also taken a part of that glory, for he himself had many remarkable moments in a record-studded career. Just when the Phenom was about to finish his address, he was interrupted by none other than the self-loving Sami Zayn. Ever since his return to the ring, Sami Zayn has turned his heel on the WWE Universe and has been on the receiving side of the booing. Sami attempted to disrespect the Undertaker and even asked him to leave the ring, claiming that the company was in his 'safe hands'. The Undertaker looked like he had heeded to Sami Zayn's words and turned to step out of the ring, only to turn back and chokeslam Zayn, leaving him in a heap in the middle of the ring.
