Novak Djokovic recently defeated Denis Shapovalov 6-3, 6-3 in the second round of Shanghai Rolex Masters 2019. The four-time winner displayed an excellent performance as he intelligently played 70 minutes. After this win, Djokovic has also improved his head-to-head rivalry against Denis Shapovalov to 3-0. Apart from Djokovic, John Isner, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Roberto Bautista Agut and many others secured wins.

Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Felix Auger Aliassime: 7-6 (3), 7-6 (3)

John Isner defeated Lucas Pouille: 7-5, 6-3

Roberto Bautista Agut defeated Reilly Opelka: 6-4, 7-5

Karen Khachanov defeated Taylor Fritz: 6-2, 6-4

Matteo Berrettini defeated Cristian Garin: 6-3, 6-3

David Goffin defeated Mikhail Kukushkin: 6-2, 3-0 ret.

Andrey Rublev defeated John Millman 6-2, 6-0

After the winning the match Djokovic praised Shapovalov and revealed that the Canadian is a very dangerous player. “It's nice to be back. And also, it feels very good to play as well as I did today. I knew that Denis is a very dangerous player. If he has time, if he's feeling the ball well, it can be a tough match," said Djokovic.

“He was serving really well, the high percentage also first serves, and just really difficult to return in the first set, so it took me a little bit of time to really adjust, start reading his serve a little bit better. But I thought I served really well. I used angles. I was very solid from the back of the court," he added. Djokovic will next face 16th seed John Isner to cement his position in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
