Better known for his anti-authority gimmick, Stone Cold Steve Austin was one of the most polarising figures during the Attitude Era of WWE (formerly known as WWF) who made a bigger name for himself by going around flashing middle fingers and handing out stunners to whomever that he would deem fit. Steve Austin has been away from active in-ring competitions ever since his last official bout against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at WrestleMania 19 over 16 years ago.
The Texas Rattlesnake is now signed to the WWE in a Legends deal and runs his own podcast while also working as a television actor/producer besides other TV appearances.
Steve Austin’s current net worth is estimated at around $45 million, while certain reports claim it stands at $50, surpassing the likes of Triple H and Brock Lesnar whose estimated worth is around $40 million and $22 million respectively.
As a full-time wrestler with the company, Steve Austin earned over $5 million during 1998-1999 at the beginning of his WWE career. Given his position at the top of the card for the later part in his professional wrestling career, he reportedly made a staggering $12 million a year on the whole.
Sure, Steve Austin makes special appearances to the ring on numerous occasions, but his fight against The Rock was officially his last as a competitor and the last time he wore a pair of trunks on WWE programming. Though he had recently expressed interest in a potential last fight with the WWE, it has been reported that his return is very unlikely.
While there is still a glimmer of hope of seeing Steve Austin in a pair of trunks, only time will tell if the Rattle Snake ever competes in the WWE ring again.
