This week’s Friday Night SmackDown started with King Corbin coming to the ring and vowing to beat his opponent Roman Reigns in the main event of the show. The show also had Tyson Fury and Braun Strowman coming face-to-face yet again in a WWE ring, however, this time both didn’t get into a brawl. The WWE Universal Champion also made his comeback to the show only to attach former WWE champion Daniel Bryan.
After leading Team Hogan to victory, Roman Reigns faced King Corbin on SmackDown. Corbin had been on Reigns' radar since the day he stopped Reigns from winning the Intercontinental Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura. In this week’s match, Reigns came to the ring with revenge in his mind but lost the match as former tag team champions Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode interfered.
After weeks of word fights, Daniel Bryan finally got a chance to confront Sami Zayn in this week’s blue brand show. But, he was not successful to speak his mind when the current WWE Universal Champion “The Fiend” showed up from behind and attacked Bryan with his mandible claw. The segment ended with the Lights fading to black and the laughter of Fiend filling the screen.
After getting defeated to WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley Last Week, Nikki Cross went on to face 'The Boss' Sasha Banks. The match was filled with character-defining moments and promoted the upcoming match between WWE Women’s Champions in the Survivor Series. From the start of the match, Cross and Banks showed excellent skills and both the superstars exchanged a series of near-falls, neither able to put the other down for the count. But a backstabber followed with the 'Bank Statement' forced Cross to submit and 'The Boss' stood victorious.
After defeating Braun Strowman at the WWE Crown Jewel, boxer Tyson Fury made his return to the blue brand show. Fury called out Strowman and revealed that Strowman is one of the toughest opponents he has faced in his career. The segment ended with both the superstars shaking each other’s hand and destroying 'The B Team'.
