Down 3-0 in the NBA Finals, everyone thought that the broom was going to be out for Dallas Mavericks. The Boston Celtics expected their Champagne as they looked to complete the sweep and win their 18th NBA title.
However, Luka Doncic and Dallas Mavericks simply had other plans tonight as they refused to give up on their season and in doing so stunned the entire NBA by blowing out Boston Celtics with a hammering 122 - 84 victory. The Mavericks 38 point win over the Boston Celtics is third largest margin of victory in NBA Finals history.

Luka Doncic with everything that he went through in the past 48 hours and all the discourse that surrounded him after Game 3, answered his critics back in spectacular fashion by scoring 29 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists in just 33 minutes.
Kyrie Irving partnered up with Doncic exceptionally well as he scored 21 points along with 6 assists and 4 rebounds. However, the pick of the players among the Mavericks was their rookie center Dereck Lively II who came off the bench to score 11 points and have 12 rebounds in just 22 minutes.
Lively also became the youngest player in NBA Finals history to score a three pointer and he became the first rookie since Magic Johnson to record multiple double doubles in the NBA Finals.
Perhaps the biggest compliment and indicator of the dominance Dallas Mavericks was that Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla took off his starters and waved the white flag towards the third quarter itself.
Jayson Tatum had one of the worst performance in the NBA Finals statistically by any player. He was a -33 on the night for Boston Celtics as he struggled to get it going and did his talent a major injustice on the night.
The Boston Celtics only scored 35 points in the first half, there lowest number of points scored at half time this season, their lowest number of points scored at half time under the entire Joe Mazzulla stint.
Luka Doncic and Dallas Mavericks definitely switched into another gear tonight and maybe it is too little too late for them but they did make a statement.
With this victory, the Dallas Mavericks now live to see another day as they have forced game 5 and cut the Boston Celtics lead down to 3-1. While, Boston Celtics still remain the favorites to win this championship as no team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the NBA Playoff history.
