Aakash Chopra retweets 2010 tweet which predicted Deepak Chahar's dominance

Former India opener Aakash Chopra may get criticised by cricket fans for his polarised opinions, however many analysts rate the cricketer turned commentator's knowledge of the game very highly. Chopra took up commentary after his departure from cricket and social media is a place where he often speaks his mind out. On Tuesday, he retweeted a tweet of his from 2010 which could be a considered as a prophecy coming true.

A prophecy made 10 years in advance

Chopra shared a 2010 tweet in which he replied to a follower to his about Deepak Chahar, India's latest fast bowling sensation in T20 cricket. In the tweet, Chopra said that he had spotted a young talent in Rajasthan who goes by the name of Deepak Chahar. He further prophecised that one should remember Chahar's name as they are going to see a lot more of him in the future. At the time, Chopra was the captain of the Rajasthan Ranji Trophy team, having shifted base from his native Delhi.

On Tuesday, Chopra retweeted this 2010 tweet of his and commented that "it has aged well." This was, of course, in reference to Deepak Chahar's series-winning performance in the final India-Bangladesh T20I. The medium-pacer recorded figures of 6/7 which are the best figures by any bowler in a T20I match, ever. He was very instrumental in India going on to win the match and the series. He was declared the Player of the Match for his performance. Legendary cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar also tweeted about Chahar's contribution to the Indian team. Chahar also went on to take another hat-trick for Rajasthan against Vidarbha in their Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 game on Tuesday.
