Apart from Suryakumar and Ishan Kishan almost the entire squad that took part in the Asian Games has been reinstated. Two major exclusions have been Yuzvendra Chahal and Sanju Samson who failed to find a place in the Squad. Both the players were snubbed from the World Cup squad and the Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel didn't deem it necessary to pick themselves again.

Samson has been on and off from the Indian team in the last few years as the Rajasthan Royals skipper hasn't been at his best of late. Samson's omission from the T20I series earned severe criticism as fans slammed the selectors for overlooking the Keralite once again.
