Akash Deep Will Never Play With Bat Gifted by Virat Kohli. Here's WHY

Ind vs Ban: India pacer Akash Deep was gifted a bat by Virat Kohli but the bowler has revealed he will never play with it. While his answer may surprise many, he has finally gone on to reveal why is he not going to use that bat. Admitting that it is extremely precious to him, he said he will keep it in the wall of his room as a souvenir.

‘Virat bhaiya ne khud se bat diya tha’

“Virat bhaiya ne khud se bat diya tha (Virat bhaiya himself gave me the bat). Kohli must have seen something about my batting. I didn’t ask for it; he came to me and asked, ‘Bat chaiye kya tujhe?’ Who wouldn’t want a bat from Virat Bhaiya? He is a legend. I was very happy to hear his words and wanted that bat. He asked me what kind of bat I use while batting, and I just smiled—I didn’t have words. Then he said, ‘Yeh le, rakh le yeh bat.‘ I will never play with that bat; it is a big gift from Virat bhaiya, and I will keep it as a souvenir on the wall of my room. I even got his autograph on the bat,” Akash was quoted as saying.

Akash scored 17 crucial runs with the bat in the Chennai Test against Bangladesh.

Earlier, veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin 's mastery over his craft, underlined by a six-wicket haul, proved too immense for Bangladesh as India cantered to a massive win with five sessions to spare.

Maintaining a clean slate against the Asian neighbours, India now lead the two-match series 1-0.

Starting from their overnight 158 for four, Bangladesh were bundled out for 234 in their second innings as Ashwin scythed through their line-up (6/88).
