Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant was another star of the match as he scored a brilliant century to announce his return to Test cricket in style. Pant was playing his first Test match after the horrific car accident that ruled him out of the sport for two years. He equalled the record of MS Dhoni for most centuries in Test cricket for India as a wicketkeeper-batsman.

The report also suggests that Rishabh Pant 's current IPL salary of INR 16 crore is likely to increase based on the total player purse allowed to a franchise and the retention fee guidelines set by the BCCI. The Indian Cricket Board is yet to announce the retention rules for IPL 2025.
Rishabh Pant is one of the few players in the IPL who has played for just one franchise throughout his career in the league. Pant has been associated with Delhi Capitals since the 2016 season and was named their captain ahead of the 2021 edition following Shreyas Iyer's injury.
