Bangladesh Embarrass Pakistan! BAN Win First-Ever Test Match Against PAK
Bangladesh completely dismantled and embarrassed Pakistan with a 10 wicket victory in the first test match of the series. This is an historic win for Bangladesh
Bangladesh has scripted history in their first test against Pakistan as for the first time in their history, they have beaten Pakistan in red ball cricket. In a match filled with heated moments, Bangladesh completely dismantled Pakistan as they stormed to a 10 wicket victory.
The first test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh held in Rawalpindi saw the homeside get completely dominated by the visiting team. Bangladesh pulled off one of their most memorable wins in test cricket despite having their backs against the ball since the first innings.
How Bangladesh scripted first ever Test win against Pakistan?
In their 23-year of playing Test Cricket against Pakistan, Bangladesh had never beaten their South Asian rivals and heading into the two match test series the expectations from Bangladesh weren't high.
It started out disastrously for Bangladesh as Pakistan batting first put up a mammoth total of 448 runs led by a splendid knock from Mohammad Rizwan. Pakistan were in the ascendancy, but Bangladesh fought back spectacularly. Veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim scored 191 to lead his team to 565 in the second innings.
Pakistan were left stunned by Bangladesh and in the third innings, the Pakistani batting order simply collapsed as they got bundled for a total of only 146.
Bangladesh needed just 30 runs in the fourth innings to script an historic test win. As it turned out Bangladeshi openers Zakir Hasan and Sadlam Islam weren't going to make any mistakes as they stormed to the total of 30 runs in just 6.3 overs and created history for their nation.
Pakistan's Embarrassing home form
The loss to Bangladesh at home is another low for Pakistani cricket as they continue to perform below standards on their home turf for the last 2.5 years. Pakistan have now failed to win 6 series at home against top opponents in the last 30 months.
They've lost a test series against both Australia and England. Lost to England in the T20I series as well and lost to New Zealand in the ODI series. They only managed to draw against New Zealand in their test series earlier and have now been humbled by Bangladesh in the first test match of the two match test series - failing to win yet another home series.
